Paradoxal Incendie

"The canvas catching fire is a powerful symbol of what we are experiencing with artificial intelligence and the fears it generates, especially among artists. But every fire is also warmth, intimacy, the aura of the artwork. Fire is not just destruction; it is also unity, friendship, a meeting point. Our work reflects this as a paradox, as what is happening with artificial intelligence and the digital world remains inherently paradoxical. These are two worlds as distinct as they are complementary, and as negative as they are positive. The paradoxical law never ceases to amaze us because that's how the world operates, and our work aims to capture this in a photographic form, using painting, illustration, and a touch of artificial (and human) intelligence."

Paradoxal Incendie” is a project that Monica Carvajal Bedoya and I worked on for the colombian CERLALC 2023 Contest. It was selected among the top 20 finalists on the competition. The photograph will be exhibited at the Bogota Book Fair in 2024.
